Transfer Student Highlight - Transfer Success Stories
Haley ConradHaley is a second-year transfer studying Communications. She was recently appointed as president of Chi Alpha Psi. As President of Chi Alpha Psi at UCLA, she guides a transfer-focused fraternity dedicated to creating connections and growth through socials, volunteer work, fundraisers, and campus-wide events. She manages chapter leadership with the goal of helping shape a welcoming environment where members can thrive personally and academically. She also loves meeting new people, make sure to say hi to her when you see her! Haley’s favorite motivational quote/piece of advice for other transfers is “People may forget what you said, but they’ll never forget how you made them feel.” - Maya Angelou. |
![]() | Isabella AnguloIsabella is a second-year transfer student studying English. In September, she was awarded the position of Vice President of Chi Alpha Psi. She helps to support our President when running the club, ensuring everyone stays on task and does what they need to do. She also assists whenever and wherever necessary to ensure the club runs smoothly. A quote that helps Isabella is “Live, Laugh, Love!” We are so excited to see where her journey takes her! |

Internships/Fellowships
UCLA Sex Squad/Internship
Responsibilities are based on each intern’s particular skill sets and interests. Interns contribute to our projects in various capacities, including event planning and execution, administrative support, research and evaluation, outreach and marketing, peer education, and art-making.
Legal Advocacy Internship - Rolling
Legal Advocacy Interns will work on litigation, research, and other legal projects aimed at protecting farmed animals. Each Intern will likely work with a variety of legal claims, such as claims based on state criminal anti-cruelty laws, administrative law, false advertising and unfair competition laws, tort liability, and corporate law. Interns will have opportunities to research new projects and to assist with ongoing projects in close collaboration with Animal Outlook’s attorneys.
Communications/Social Media Internship - Rolling
The internship offers an opportunity for hands-on experience in effective animal advocacy. Assist with social media, blog posts, and email newsletters, including creating collateral. Collaborate with the Director of Communications to create engaging content. The role includes maintaining a consistent voice across all content and optimising for SEO. The position is remote and requires multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
The Getty Summer Internship - Jan 21.
The Getty is offering paid summer internships for students from backgrounds underrepresented in the arts in areas including but not limited to: conservation, museum education, curatorship, philanthropy, publications, etc.
Research Web Design and Development Intern - Dec 18.
Are you a self-starter who can translate complex research into compelling web experiences? Adobe Research is looking for a design-minded communicator to take ownership of our web presence and elevate how we showcase our work visually. This summer internship will challenge you to work independently, collaborate with world-class researchers, and lead the creative direction for how we present groundbreaking AI research online.
Associate Product Manager, Thrive Intern - Dec 12.
Duolingo Product Managers (PMs) have ownership over product optimizations and features, from independently run experiments to major product decisions. Backed by strong analytical skills and business acumen, and inspired by access to senior leadership and transparency into how they make product decisions, our PMs develop insights that lead to new product ideas and Duolingo’s next beloved feature.
Scholarships
Key Into Public Service Scholarship - Jan 20.
Membership in Phi Beta Kappa is NOT required to apply. Selected students are required to participate in an educational conference taking place in Washington, D.C. from June 24-28, 2026. This conference will highlight pathways into a variety of public service careers, provide a mentoring conversation matched to recipient interest, and offer other networking opportunities.
Vlahakis-Hanks Undergraduate Scholarship - Dec 15.
The Vlahakis-Hanks Undergraduate Scholarship was established in 2018 to support an annual undergraduate scholarship in the College of Letters and Science. Eligible students must demonstrate leadership in Hellenic causes, environmental issues, or community empowerment. Scholarship award amount: up to $3,000. The next award will be disbursed in Fall 2026.
Alfred and Frances Escherich Endowed Scholarship - Jan 26.
For Business Economics majors with a strong interest in business administration, the UCLA College Alfred and Frances Escherich Endowed Scholarship was established in 2016 to provide scholarship support for UCLA undergraduates in the Department of Economics in the College of Letters and Science.
Carl H. Unruh Endowed Undergraduate Scholarship - Jan 26.
For UCLA College undergraduates connected to adoption and/or foster care, with demonstrated financial need, the Carl H. Unruh Undergraduate Scholarship Endowment was established in 2006. Connections to adoption and/or foster care could include, but are not limited to students who are, or have been, adoptees, members of a family that includes one or more adoptees, adoptive parents, birth parents who have surrendered a child for adoption, current or former foster parents, currently or formerly in foster care and interested in researching adoption-related issues.
Student Government/Clubs
Researcher Guest Speaker
DEC 2nd, 6:15-7:15PM (VIRTUAL): Workshop breaking down the ten core best practicies for conducting strong, high-impact empirical research. Students will leave with clear, actionable tools that can be applied to their own projects right away.
Transfer Student Advocacy Day Steering Committee
Transfer Student Advocacy Day will be taking place on April 16, 2026 at the California State Capitol. In the build up to TSAD, the USAC EVP and TSR’s Offices are creating a steering committee that is looking to include historically marginalized students from the transfer identity. Committee members will assist with the outreach and development of legislative priorities to shape UCSA’s legislative agenda for TSAD.
