Transfer Student Highlight - Transfer Success Stories
Elana BoydElana is a first-year transfer and is majoring in Sociology with a minor in Professional Writing. At the end of March, Elana received her offer for an internship with the Youth Justice Alliance Internship Program in collaboration with the LA County PDO and APD. This summer, she will be a Youth Justice Alliance intern supporting youth navigating the legal system, with the possibility to work alongside a Public Defender. This highly selective opportunity is designed to build a strong cohort of students committed to public defense and youth services. “Whenever applying for opportunities, I always remember to ‘get comfortable being uncomfortable, ‘ and that ‘closed mouths don't get fed - don't self-select out.’” Says Elana, “I'm extremely grateful for this opportunity to observe public defense and support youth. My community and my passion for uplifting and supporting youth continue to guide me through my professional journey. Congratulations, Elana! |
