Transfer Student Highlight - Transfer Success Stories

Hyerim Yoon


Hyerim Yoon is a second-year transfer majoring in English and History, and will graduate this June. In May of 2025, she was elected as the USAC Transfer Student Representative and has served throughout the 2025-2026 academic year. In her role, she represents over 8,000 transfer students at UCLA and works with administrators and student leaders to best serve current and prospective students. She also serves as chair of the USAC Constitutional Review Committee. Hyerim has accomplished so much as TSR, and she will be attending UC Berkeley for her Master’s of Arts in Global Studies with a concentration in East Asia. A quote Hyerim lives by is “YOLO!” Thank you for serving the UCLA transfer community. We can’t wait to see how far you will go!

Audit and process requisitions for USAC and GSA funding disbursement, generate purchase orders, process vendor invoices, and input and maintain accurate data in accounting systems

UCLA Commuter & Parking Services Student Jobs - Rolling

This position may involve driving university-owned vehicles for operational needs on an infrequent basis. All business units within UCLA Commuter & Parking Services (C&PS) work together to develop innovative customer service solutions and technologies to deliver a seamless customer experience.

Scholarships/Research

Center for Community Engagement “Engaging LA” Scholarship - May 15

The “Engaging LA” Scholarship provides $2,000 awards to support UCLA students participating in community-engaged learning. This scholarship is designed to enhance access to experiential education, deepen students’ understanding of community issues, and support civic and professional development while offsetting potential financial barriers to participation.

Center for Community Engagement Summer Internship Scholarship - May 15

The Center for Community Engagement offers $1,700 scholarships to support students participating in unpaid summer internships. This award helps increase access to experiential learning, support career development, and offset financial barriers.

Student Government/Clubs

Mobile Clinic Project, Caseworker Application - May 4

The Mobile Clinic Project (MCP) at UCLA is a student-run, student-led organization that provides street-side medical and social services to the unhoused community of Los Angeles.

BruiNecessities, Board Application - May 8

The mission of BruiNecessities Committee lies in the belief that student success is dependent on student wellness. It looks to support UCLA by raising awareness of the lack of basic resources available on campus and seeks to fill these gaps by working with different entities on campus to bring programs and services to students.

Events and other Opportunities

Bruins Bridging Barriers - May 4

Learn more about health equity and the barriers to healthcare, including insurance gaps, homelessness, immigration status, mental health disparities, and more.

Transfer Alumni Networking Night - May 29

This event brings together current transfer students and UCLA alumni to connect, share experiences, and explore academic and career pathways. It is an opportunity to learn from alumni who have navigated the transfer experience and are now pursuing a variety of professional fields, while also building meaningful connections within the transfer community.
